A new app controlled car-sharing service launches in Honolulu, Hawaii. Fulfilled by Toyota Motor Corp., drivers are now able to use smartphones to unlock and start cars for rent by the hour or day. The Toyota platform will track and analyze who uses car-sharing and when, and according to the company’s rep, the data will be used to better manage its supply of cars. The new service was developed with local distributor Servco Pacific Inc.
