School Zones are busy zones, and are high risk for injury and death. Children or even teens don’t know how long it takes to stop a car, and they don’t always cross the road where they are supposed to. Not to mention the technology they use, such as mp3 players and smartphones, that is a huge distraction. A national survey found that two-thirds of drivers exceed the posted speed limit during the 30-minute period before and after school, and another found that 78 percent of drivers sped in school zones, and 82 percent of drivers passed a school bus illegally. Drivers should remind themselves of the rules of the road in school zones and  keep an eye out.
