According to Men’s Health, one in five men thinks airbags make seatbelt unnecessary. In fact, that’s not the case at all. Scientists from the University of Pittsburgh studied 12 years-worth of car crashes in which airbags had deployed and their findings shed light on the importance of wearing the seatbelt. Their research showed that the incidence of neck or spine injury was 70 percent higher for drivers who didn’t have their seatbelt buckled.
