Collision insurance pays for damage done to your vehicle from flipping over, hitting a pothole, or from a collision with another vehicle. Even if you are at fault for what happened, you will still be reimbursed for your car repair expenses, after you have paid your deductibles. If you are not at fault, the insurance company will try to recover money from the other driver’s insurance company, to get back what they have paid you. The collision coverage usually has $250 to $1,000 in deductibles. The higher they are, the lower your premium.
